Enviah Collaborates Virtually with Women Entrepreneurs during COVID

Even without a pandemic to contest with, being an entrepreneur has never been an easy job. However, because of COVID, more opportunities for entrepreneurs to participate in virtual collaboration to grow their businesses have presented themselves.

In particular, one program sparked the interest of Enviah President and Founder, Dr. Lorissa MacAllister, as it allowed her to participate with other women entrepreneurs in the midwest to elevate their businesses and flourish in a digital-first world. The program was the Executive Education Program, a collaboration between Wells Fargo and the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) founded in May 2020.

In recent months, Dr. MacAllister’s work during the program caught the Professional Woman’s Magazine’s attention, who interviewed her about her experience in the program and how it positively impacted Enviah.

“The excellent leadership of the WBENC team and the support of other women entrepreneurs have encouraged [Enviah] to dig deep and build a foundation for success as we all emerge from the pandemic. I am grateful for Wells Fargo to have the wisdom and the forethought to use this time as the nation pauses to lift up women entrepreneurs,” said Dr. MacAllister.

As part of this program, Dr. MacAllister focused intently on Enviah’s systems and operations and worked to implement the EOS Worldwide (the Entrepreneurial Operating System®) described in the book Traction: Get a Grip on Your Business by Gino Wickman.

After completing the program, Dr. MacAllister implemented several aspects of the EOS training into Enviah’s processes, which are detailed below.

  1. Understanding Individuals Strengths: Define the teams’ strengths and how each team member “shows up” to work using Marcus Buckingham’s Stand Out Assessment (free during COVID-19)
  2. The Vision/Traction Organizer (VTO*): This holistic model helps to communicate the next tenure path for the growth of the company
  3. Weekly Meeting Pulse: Help to tackle barriers and opportunities to support each other, especially during remote work
  4. Team Member 1 on 1 Meetings: With an understanding of the clear vision through EOS, each team member contributed to our growth through defining the rocks for the next 90 days

*The VTO tool is simple to review with the team, reducing the length of meetings to focus on big picture tasks.
